MoMo and Money

Five Words for Where the Money Is.

Most tills say a sale is paid or it isn't. Real days are messier: someone says they sent it, the network went quiet, the regular will settle on Friday. Agoo POS gives each of those its own word, its own coin and its own colour, and nothing else on screen may wear them.

The money is proven: counted cash, an approved card, a provider's confirmation or a matched statement line.

Claimed

The customer says they paid. Half a coin, because half of it is only their word.

Owed

An empty coin with a line in it. Goods have gone on trust, written in the credit book.

Unknown

A broken ring. The reader or the network went quiet. Don't charge again until it's settled.

Failed

A struck coin. Declined, timed out or refused. No money moved. Offer another way to pay.

The Fake-Alert Guard.

The forged SMS and the edited screenshot are the oldest trick at the counter. Nothing a customer shows you counts. Press the buttons below and watch the sale refuse to move until the money does.

A report to the scam checker carries a masked number, the amount and the time. It never names anyone in public, and it can be appealed.

A payment moves from Claimed to Matched by amount, reference and time. Where a provider gives us a route, it happens alone. Where it doesn't, import the statement at close of day and a named person confirms what's left.

  • MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AT Money
  • One payment can only ever match one sale
  • A limit you set for goods that may leave on a claim
  • Open claims follow you to the manager's phone

Cash, Counted Blind.

The cashier counts each note and coin, and the expected figure stays hidden until the count is in. Then the difference appears plainly, as Short, Over or Right. Past your limit, a reason goes in the audit trail. Pesewa rounding, where it applies, is recorded too.

What's Owed Is Money Too

A tab for a customer in a small shop, a trade account for a company buying by the carton. Both have limits, part payments, statements and reminders by consent. It's your own credit to your own customers; Agoo doesn't lend and doesn't score anyone.

Back the Way It Came

A refund goes to the MoMo or the card that paid, in part or in full, with its own states until the provider confirms it. Nobody is pushed onto store credit when they're owed money. Physical return, what happens to the goods and the money are separate steps with separate permissions.

Whose Account Is It?

Your own account or till number is the default, and Agoo takes no commission on any direct sale, on any plan. Or choose Agoo's keys, if you'd rather not set up a provider. Then the fee is 2.5% + VAT = 3.0%, taken at source, with next-day MoMo payout included.

A daily bank payout costs GH₵ 8.

Split at Source

The provider collects and pays you directly, and Agoo's fee is taken off there and then. Agoo is software: the money doesn't sit with us. If you have no bank account or company papers yet, you can be paid to a verified MoMo wallet by the best route the provider supports.

  • Paystack and Hubtel process in GH₵
  • Stripe and PayPal for customers abroad
  • Customers in Ghana see and pay in GH₵
  • Provider keys are sealed, per merchant, never in a till
